Harmen Middelveld is a Lab technician at Synapse Research Institute since 2022. He began his career at Synapse with a clinical orientation by validating diagnostic equipment and performing thrombin generation assays for clinical studies. Harmen now implements his expertise to develop and execute emerging tests, including the platelet granule release assay and various in-house ELISA assays. Additionally, he investigates the utility of novel VHHs (single-domain antibodies) for future use in research, diagnostics and therapy. In order to grow in his position Harmen invests in courses for Lab manager. As an enthusiastic employee who works with passion and enjoys fostering a positive atmosphere within the team Harmen holds a key position mentoring and training (PhD) students and serves as the institute’s Emergency Response Coordinator.
In January 2022, Harmen completed his Biomedical Science degree at Zuyd University of Applied Sciences.
