Marisa Ninivaggi joined the Synapse Research Institute as a PhD student in February 2010, where she worked on the development of the whole blood thrombin generation assay. In 2014, she obtained her PhD with the thesis “Thrombin Generation: Innovations and Clinical Applications” and subsequently continued at Synapse as a postdoctoral researcher. In March 2016, she joined Novo Nordisk abroad, where she broadened her expertise in thrombin generation in haemophilia and novel therapies. She returned to Synapse in July 2018 as a Research Project Leader, with her research focusing not only on thrombin generation but also on validation studies of new assays, devices, and reagents, all conducted under Standard Operating Procedures certified by ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015. She currently serves as the Quality Manager of Synapse, where she ensures that all research processes, data, and laboratory practices meet established regulatory, ethical, and methodological standards to guarantee reliable, reproducible, and high-quality scientific outcomes.
