Joke Konings joined the Synapse Research Institute team in July 2013 as a Postdoctoral Researcher and now works as a Senior Scientist. She is involved in the validation of (whole blood) thrombin generation in several clinical studies and on the development and fine-tuning of a new whole-blood thrombin generation assay. She performs validation studies for in vitro medical devices including analyzers and reagents dedicated to hemostasis. Furthermore, Joke contributes to commercial services for external clients aiding in the support of their laboratory practices. Additionally, she is the Operations Officer and ensures that the commercial services we deliver uphold the highest quality standards and operate under Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) certified by ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015.
Joke graduated from the master Biomedical Sciences from the Radboud University in Nijmegen in 2008. She received her PhD title at the Maastricht University at the Department of Biochemistry on a thesis entitled: “The role of coagulation factor XII in fibrin clot formation and fibrinolysis”.
